Adopting a Family...

Updated: Jul 15, 2020

The beginning of 2020 was a rough start to begin with. By mid-March the world’s situation escalated even more. It was due to a widespread of the coronavirus popularly called Covid 19. This pandemic spread all over the world and forced most countries to lockdown. People lost jobs, schools were closed, families were forced to stay home, businesses were interrupted, and most travels, offices, events were suspended and closed. People’s lives had been disrupted. Thousands and thousands of people got infected, died while some recovered. However, life was never the same. Families were at a loss, not knowing how to cope with daily living.

FASFOS, a 501 c (3) non-profit organization based in Las Vegas, NV had recently adopted a family in the Philippines. The young single mother is Maria Cecilia Papuran who have three children whose ages are 6 months, 2 years old, and 8 years old. She was looking for HELP in the internet and came across the website of FASFOS. She connected by email and the Community Outreach Director responded. After the interview and conversation with her, the Committee reviewed her individual case and soon after gave the approval. Her family was adopted.

Going back, Maria lost her job once the pandemic worsened. She was lost, confused, anxious not knowing how to support herself and the three children. She tried some other employment but to no avail. She has no where to go as her mother had died and her father in jail due to a driving accident. Not having a support made her so miserable, feeling alone and deserted. But, she has to move on and help her children. She asked HELP from FASFOS. She became an adopted family.

FASFOS aims to help families in distress by sending them ESSENTIAL HEALTH & CARE PRODUCTS. If you are interested in helping those families in need, you may send us a donation of money and/or material things. Please visit our website www.fasfos.org for more information to get involved with our Outreach Programs.

Thank to the donation from the people in the community, the package is ready to be ship to Maria's family!

This is a continuing story and will be updated.
