Minerva MP Honkala is a social-civic leader in Las Vegas, NV being the Founder and Executive Director of FASFOS, a 501 c (3) non-profit organization. FASFOS highest honors was in October 2015 when FASFOS was awarded the “FAFH Presidential Award: Golden Pearl Award” from Filipino-American Heritage Foundation headed by its Founder, Dr. Raul Aragon.

 

She is a Co-Founder of NFTC and  currently a member of the Board of Directors as its Compliance Committee Chairman. NFTC (Nevada  Free Taxes Coalition) is a 501 c (3) organization whose aim is to help and assist the low-income families and taxpayers do and prepare  Income Tax Returns through the VITA program.

 

She was involved in Toastmasters International  in the Philippines (D75), Minnesota (D6), California and Nevada (D33),  the latest of which was District 33 (CA/NV). Her last leadership role in Toastmasters International was District 33 Club Growth Director (2018). In 2003, she was awarded the “District 6  Don Murray Award”, a special recognition to a Toastmaster who go up and beyond the Toastmaster duties by excelling in both Communication and Leadership skills. In 2017-2018 she received District 33 Toastmaster of the Year, the highest award a Toastmaster can ever receive. She has been proven as a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) and a Dynamic, Effective Leader (DEL).

 

Minerva MP Honkala is a published author, “The Way to Becoming a Total Person: Poems that Inspire” (2004), “Expressions Impressions: Life in Prose & Poetry” (2019). She has written numerous articles, speeches, training modules, short stories, poetry, meaningful, inspiring passages or maxims.

 

She is a motivational speaker. She is currently a PAYBAC speaker with CCSD Community-School Partnership program. Through FASFOS, she provides free and paid  workshops, training and seminars throughout the year. Her audiences include children, the youth, parents, educators and professional adults and interested learners. Her message has always been, “Becoming Whole/Total as a Person”. She believes that becoming whole leads to success and happiness.

 

She is a fulfilled woman: a great mother & grandmother, a law-abiding citizen, people’s servant and most of a all, a loving & caring child of GOD.
